Disabling Proxy settings

Internet Explorer
  1. Launch Internet Explorer.
  2. In the menu bar, click the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options window, click the Connections tab, then click LAN settings.
  4. In the LAN Settings window under Proxy server, make sure the Proxy server check box is either checked or unchecked depending on whether you are using a proxy or not. Most likely at home you will have it disabled or unchecked. Click OK.
  5. Click OK to close the LAN Settings window, and then click OK to close the Internet Options window.


Mozilla Firefox
  1. Launch Mozilla Firefox.
  2. In the menu bar, click the Tools menu, then click Options.
  3. In the Options window, click the Advanced option.
  4. In the Advanced window, click the Network tab, then click Settings. The Connection Settings window will open.
  5. In the Connection Settings window, click to select the No Proxy radio button.
  6. Click OK to close the Connection Settings window, then click OK to close the Options window.


Google Chrome
  1. Launch Google Chrome
  2. Click the Tools menu in the menu bar. Select Options.
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. In the "Network" section, click Change proxy settings. This will open the Internet Properties dialog.
  5. Click LAN settings.
  6. Deselect the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox.


Mac - Safari
  1. In the browser tool bar select "Preferences".
  2. In the window that pops up, click the "Advanced" tab at the top.
  3. Next to "Proxies", click the "Change Settings" button.
  4. In the "Network" window that opens up, make sure all of the proxy settings in the "Select a protocol to configure" list are unchecked, as well as any other proxy settings.
  5. Click "Apply Now" if you made any changes.
  6. Close the "Network" window.
  7. Close the "Advanced" settings window.
