AVAST
- Please navigate to the system tray on the lower right corner of your desktop.
- Right click on the avast! icon in system tray > choose Stop On-Access Protection.
AVG
- Please go to the system tray on the lower right corner of your desktop near your clock.
- Please open the AVG Control Center program > Double-click on the "AVG Resident Shield" component > Deselect the "Turn on AVG Resident Shield" checkmark and save the setting.
- When you need to enable the AVG Resident Shield, open the AVG Control Center program > Double-click on the "AVG Resident Shield" component > Check "Turn on AVG Resident Shield" > Save.
AVIRA ANTIVIR
- Please navigate to the system tray on the lower right corner of your desktop and look for an open white umbrella on red background.
- Right click the icon > Untick the option AntiVir Guard Enable.If successful disabled, you will see a closed, white umbrella on a red background.
BITDEFENDER
- Move mouse arrow to the Bitdefender icon in the system tray (The little pictures in the lower right corner. When the arrow is placed on the little picture, a caption appears that tells what it is.)
- Double-click the icon for BD.
- When the BD window appears, move mouse arrow to the left side and click Virus Shield.
- Move mouse arrow to the black check by Virus Shield is enabled and click.
- The black works will change to red, Virus Shield is disabled.
- Move mouse arrow to the top right corner and click the down arrows.
- BD is now inactive.
- To enable BD, do the same steps except click to enable.
ESET NOD32 ANTIVIRUS
- Please navigate to the system tray on the bottom right corner of your desktop near your clock .
- Click on the NOD32 blue and white icon > Click on Quit button.
- You will see a popup that will show that protection will now be disabled. Click on "Yes" to disable the Antivirus Guard.
F-SECURE ANTIVIRUS
- Please navigate to the system tray near your clock on the lower right corner of your desktop and look for F-Secure's blue icon.
- Right click it > Select Unload.
- The F-Secure icon should now be changed to a red circle with a white strike-through on a blue background.
KASPERSKY ANTIVIRUS
- Please navigate to the system tray on the bottom right of your desktop (near the clock) and look for the Kaspersky icon.
- Right click it to select Pause Protection.
- Click on "By User Request"
- A popup will show that protection is now disabled as the icon changes.
MCAFEE ANTIVIRUS
- Please open McAfee Security Centre.
- Under Common Tasks, click on Home.
- Click Computer Files.
- Click Configure.
- Make sure the following are disabled by ticking the "Off" button:
- Virus protection
- Spyware protection
- System Guards Protection
- Script Scanning Protection (you may have to scroll down to see it)
Microsoft Security Essentials
- Right click on the system tray icon, and select "Open"
- Click on the "Settings" tab
- On the left side of the screen, click on "Real-time protection"
- Uncheck "Turn on Real-time protection"
- Click on "Save Changes"
NORTON ANTIVIRUS
- Please go to the system tray on the lower right of your desktop and look for the yellow NAV icon.
- Right-click on that -> cSelect "Disable Auto-Protect."
- Select a duration of 5 or more hours (By doing this, we can be sure there will be no interference with the cleaning of your system.)
- Click "OK."
- A pop-up will alert you that protection will be disabled, by showing a red circle with a white "x" over the NAV icon.
SYMANTEC ENDPOINT PROTECTION
- Right-click on the icon in the Taskbar notification area >
- Select "Disable Symantec EndPoint Protection" so that it is highlighted.
